MODzilla is back ;-)

Just short,
the GT-R is a beast, but one Japanese term intrigues me:
KAIZEN 改善
So in my search for improvements I decided to mod my GT-R step by step towards a car that is balanced.
Balanced between performance use and stylish quality look. Performance wise I am not looking for Switzer P800 or whatever P-number will follow; I let my funny and crazy (positive way) Russian friends go for such straight line drag-stars ..me I want to have a car equal to a GT2 RS; a daily drive (euh not that daily but ..) you drive it really whenever, where ever, and against anybody you want .. remember the slogan of Nissan, well Nissan guys, we GT-R enthusiast will give Kazutoshi Mizuno and his research team examples of what the GT-R should be future wise;

In short the mods I start with:
* COOLING; extra cooling especially for the transmission. Although Willall and many others now started to deliver some Oil and physical upgrades, I am still looking for OEM / OES quality improvements (Nismo like)
SO after talkign to Markus, I ended up with the cooling system from SSP; Not prefect but a good base; Bigger oilpan extra pump and separated oil radiator; The guys of Broemmler did a perfect job with teflon coating around my exhaust (akrapovic) but I discussed already my custom made mod, a kind of diffuser taking some air and guiding it to the rear.

Why not the HKS with front mounting cooling? Seems very nice, I must admit it, however I have plans where I will need that space (cfr later)

* Second mod: Alcon Brakes ic the Alcon Big Brake Superkit.
Guys (directing to Nissan) it is nice playing some great marketing stuff / names like Brembo, but there are better alternatives. If you track the GT-R on a regular base, you definitely need this upgrade! It is just astonishing how good they are!

* Third Mod: Akrapovic Evolution exhaust
After first having the full titanium exhaust of GTC I ended up with a complete melted rear bumper :S Not directly caused by the quality of the GTC, but the mis installation of it and that is partially due to imho a design failure of the GTC exhaust.
So I went for the best product, not in sound but in quality and performance.

* Fourth mod: SKN stage 3 tuning
It is the maximum on stock parts, this will change future wise as I want a 800bhp result, now I have approx. 600;
The tuning is safer than Cobb tuning, read: less aggressive in lower revs.

Mods to come:

Other seats;
H&R springs
Rimms with a matt black (concave design)

Mods phase 2:
Complete engine rebuild with stronger internals and stronger clutch / transmission parts.
(Winter 2010)

Now Cosmetics ;-)
I was inspired with BMW’s recent Frozen Gray M3
but ended up with a special folie from 3M
the result is GREAT, together with some Carbon details the car is now almost what I want (for exterior design)

Decided for yourself: ;-)

Alcon Brakes

One of the best mods I made was placing the Alcon Super Brake kit;
Alcon

People who know me, can tell that driving is a passion. I have started a modest race career, just in order to explore my skills, fine tune them and improve car handling knowledge.
Later more about it, but I can tell you already I like it, but helping others with some advise gives me a more satisfying feeling;
Now back to Alcon;
From now on we are the official dealer in Belgium for Alcon
It is also a high quality brand, known for it’s service and (FIA) motor sports knowledge.

The brakes are astonishing!!! Where the Brembo’s soon got spider cracks these brakes are superb and consistent lap after lap; The Brembo’s initial bite was also good but after 5 – 6 laps pushing at Spa-Francorschamps they began to fade.

On club circuits and equipped with Pagid RS29 pads, you got a nice side effect of the improved rear brakes ..; You can more or less ‘swing’ the car around sharp turns, just by swiftly hitting the brake before the apex. Hm my English is not that good to explain :S

Perhaps future video’s will show exactly what I mean
